Privacy Policy & Terms Of Use

We use cookies, we wish they were the choc-chip kind but unfortunately they’re not… A cookie in the tech world is a piece of information that we place on your computer's hard drive that can track your movements while you are on the website. It will also recognise you when you visit our website again. Most sites, software and games also use cookies.

Cookies enable you to navigate our site quicker and improve the overall site for everyone. Our tech cookies don’t store sensitive information; in fact they don’t have any information which could be used to identify you personally. For the avoidance of doubt, Active NI will never ask you for payment or financial details. Any fees indicated by providers, will be taken directly by providers at their event.

We have to ask for information relating to ethnic minorities, disabilities and gender to comply with funder requirements. Individual details are never released, not even to programme providers. Equality information is always presented on a programme or overall Active NI basis. Programme providers only get participant names, medical information and their emergency contact details.

We don’t ask people their religious background or even their address. We only ever ask for the minimum amount of information providers and funders need respectively. We comply with the standards, procedures and requirements laid down in the Data Protection Act 1998 to ensure that the personal information you give us is kept secure and processed fairly and lawfully. We will not sell your data on; and allow people to opt in or out at any time of periodical communication which we think users may find helpful.

Active NI is a free service that helps users to find beginner activity courses and providers to promote & manage such courses. We will try and make sure the information is accurate, complete & up-to-date but cannot accept responsibility for errors or omissions of third parties (e.g. providers). If you do find an error please let us know and we will try our best to rectify.

The content on the site remains the property of the Active NI and/or the appropriate content provider. We’d love you to share, but please give credit where it’s due. Thanks :-)

Active NI was set-up and run by volunteers to promote activity and running in NI. We hope you find the website helpful and we welcome any feedback you may have and/or any ideas on how we could improve it. Over time we hope to add new features, so please visit us again. Hopefully see you soon, until then Happy Feet!
